Major Functional Areas and Description of Duties The Emergency Services Intern will have the opportunity to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team to: • Provide on-site and hospital based crisis intervention, treatment planning, risk assessment, de-escalation, and NH Laws and ethics through the evaluation and treatment of clients in crisis, • Provide treatment to a small caseload of acute cases by providing ongoing care to clients in brief treatment episodes, • Evaluation of clients recently referred or released from multiple sources including hospital, school, internal and walk-ins, • Shadowing of clinicians at the hospital and will assist in evaluation of clients in various levels of acute risk, • Students at the hospital will learn about medical conditions, medications, and/or substances affecting psychiatric symptoms and behaviors, • Assist in discharge planning which may involve hospitalization, involuntary admission, conditional discharge, referral to partial hospitalization program, or acute outpatient treatment, • Collaborate and coordinate efforts with CLM treatment team, PCP, and/or other involved providers, • Adhere to all federal and state regulatory standards and statues, code of ethics, and represent company in a professional and appropriate manner in the community.
