Growing Places Early Education and Youth Recreation is a private, non-profit early care, education and recreation organization governed by a Board of Directors and licensed by the State of New Hampshire's Bureau of Child Care Standards and Licensing. Growing Places currently serves approximately 200 families in the seacoast area. Our organization has programs for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years at three different sites located in Durham, Lee and Madbury.

Description
The overall responsibility of the Early Education Teacher is to provide engaging, child inspired curriculum with a focus on the whole child in a team atmosphere.  Primarily this includes leading planned classroom activities while providing direct care, meeting the needs of each individual child with support of their cognitive, social-emotional and physical development, and supervision of all children enrolled while ensuring the program is in compliance with NH State Licensing Bureau regulations.  This position is responsible for a high level of parent communication, development of a creative and intentional learning environment and the establishment of child inspired curriculum practices for both our indoor and outdoor classrooms.

Skills
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, with degree in Education or related field a plus
Twenty-four early childhood education credits, teaching experience preferred
Must pass Background Check (State Fingerprint)
Is, or is willing to be CPR and First Aid Certified
Knowledge of children’s physical, emotional and developmental patterns

Consider the individual child and their uniqueness in program and curriculum planning
Create an environment that fosters cooperation, communication and collaboration
Use the outdoors as an extension to the classroom
Plan intentional, child-inspired curriculum
Ensure all classroom activities are developmentally appropriate and enhance social, physical and intellectual well-being of the children enrolled
Communicate directly with the Program Director
