Description
Phillips Exeter Academy, located in Exeter, NH, is a highly selective coeducational independent school for boarding and day students in grades 9 through 12, and post-graduate level as well. Our 671-acre campus is comprised of academic and residential buildings, a library, playing fields and sprawling green lawns; retaining our 18th century New England charm.

The Position
The Temporary Central Heating Plant Operator serves as a key player to the physical plant operation and control of the Central Heating Plant. Responsible for the overall operation of the Central Heating Plant to include; plant operation duties, inspections and watch standing, and campus alarm monitoring.

This position is considered “Essential Personnel”, requiring the employee to report to or remain at work for emergencies and inclement weather events, if instructed to do so.

Schedule: Friday - Sunday, 11:00pm (Friday) - 7:00am (Saturday) and 11:00pm (Saturday) - 7:00am (Sunday). Schedule may vary according to departmental and Academy needs.

Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Training in HVAC field is required.
• Training in building automation systems preferred.
• Licensor as Stationary Engineer preferred.
• Experience in steam plant operation or maintenance.
• Experience with computer based controls, building automation systems, steam and hydronic heating systems, and air conditioning equipment.
• Experience operating commercial refrigeration equipment preferred.
• Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting is preferred.

Qualifications
• Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions, maintain a professional demeanor and restraint at all times, including stressful situations.
